A Serial Shooter Went On A Killing Spree Hungry For Revenge

It was a deadly game of chase, with the murderer taunting the FBI as he left cryptic notes behind with each new victim.

We often hear the famous quote, ‘All is fair in love and war’, but that’s a saying best left in the movies. Otherwise, it can have devastating and often irreversible repercussions. In 2001, a similar unfortunate chain of events occurred in East Point, Georgia. The shooter took to the streets of the city, promising destruction. As he pursued one victim after another, the FBI tried desperately to apprehend him. It was a race against time with the citizens’ life at stake.

He stepped towards the car to have a better look, only to be stopped in his tracks by what he saw inside. His mother, Pamela Clark, was bleeding out into the car seat with the blood-soaked mail scattered around her. His face went pale as he fell to the ground in despair. He failed to understand who could have murdered his mother. Even though she worked as a probation officer, she was generally well-liked by probationers.

Pamela’s son called the East Point police, and a homicide investigation began. The FBI got involved, and Special Agent Pete McFarlane scoured the crime scene for any evidence but found no fingerprints. Amongst the clutter of mail in the car, there was a note with Jack scribbled on it using a yellow highlighter. However, Agent Pete disregarded it as useless. Little did he know it was the most significant clue to catch the murderer.
