Strangers

I think it is funny how
strangers can become such crucial pieces in our lives.
People we never thought of,
people we never knew before,
that suddenly, changed it all.

Every stranger holds the potential to be
a future lover,
a best friend or a mistake.

Funny, and magic I say,
how someone can fit in a life,
lived long before one’s arrival.

Beautiful also,
interesting as well.
Year after year, there’s a new set of strangers who now know my name.
and maybe, my address,
my heart and my dreams.

As I walk down the street,
as I enter a classroom,
as I travel and as I live,
I ask myself when will I meet the next stranger that turns into my all.
When will it be the moment when I get to know more people to love, care for, and count on?

Any day now, I think.
Whenever you least expect it, life answers back.
